Award Winning Early Childhood Music and Movement classes in Bakersfield
Each week in Music Together® Mixed-Age Classes at Yellow House Music Together, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them® gather for 45 minutes of fun-filled family music time. Your teacher will lead you and the other families in music activities ranging from lullabies to full-on jam sessions (with child-friendly instruments, of course). It’s so much fun you won’t realize how much learning is taking place!
You’ll take home the award-winning music used in class, along with an illustrated songbook and other resources. As you discover new ways to play with music all week long, you’ll be supporting your child’s music-learning and overall development—even if you don’t think of yourself as a great singer or dancer. Upcoming Music Together® Classes
Our 6-week Mixed-Age SUMMER session will begin on June 22nd, as well as two Rhythm Kids® SUMMER CAMPS in June and July. Our 10-week FALL session will begin on September 8th, and registration is open HERE. Our classes are held in our wonderful classroom location near the Valley Plaza Mall. Our popular Generations class will continue at Solstice Senior Living Center for our summer and fall sessions! We have AM and PM classes to fit everyone's schedule.

You’ll love the Kazoo Song Collection!
The upcoming Kazoo Collection features the Music Together classic "Me, You, and We," plus favorites like "See the Pony Galloping" and the Spanish folksong "Tingalayo." We'll have fun dramatizing the nursery rhyme "Old King Cole" and singing about your favorite foods in "Apples and Cherries." In addition to your weekly classes, your tuition includes recordings and materials for you to use at home, including an illustrated songbook and access to the songs through the Music Together app.

Sing, Dance and Drum Along with Us!
The Sea Turtle collection draws inspiration from Malaysia, Lebanon, and other regions of the world, with drumming patterns adapted from Turkish rhythms used for dancing. The sea turtle’s ability to swim as far as 10,000 nautical miles–yet always return home–inspired “Turtle Back Home.” “Wau Bulan,” a Malaysian folk song, describes the beauty of the Malaysian traditional kite (wau), with a rounded bottom shaped like a half moon (bulan), as it flies up high in the sky. “Ala Dal'Ona” is a well-known traditional Lebanese dabke, a style of dance typical in Levant countries such as Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. Children will delight in imaginative play, drumming, and dancing with this rich, eclectic collection of songs and chants. Camp tuition includes our Sea Turtle Collection recording, songbook, access to drumming videos with Rhythm Kids® creator Tom Foote, a daily craft and snack.
Space is limited to 10 children per camp! A djembe drum will be provided for in class use only.

At Music Together®, we know that all children are musical, including children with special needs. Everyone is welcome to participate in our mixed-age classes, including children with cognitive, physical, or neurological needs or impairments. In fact, your child will most likely thrive in class, because our “accept and include” philosophy means that we respect different ages, stages, and learning styles. And if any adaptations for your child are necessary, please let me know so I can modify the activities for your child with special needs.
