Recommended for Ages 5–8
(Completion of Level 1 or teacher approval)
Level 2 builds on the rhythmic foundations introduced in Level 1 and deepens each child’s musical understanding.
Students expand their rhythmic vocabulary, strengthen ensemble skills, and begin developing true musical literacy. Through hands-on drumming, movement, and collaborative music-making, children explore early music theory concepts and are introduced to reading and writing rhythmic notation in an age-appropriate, engaging way.
This level encourages musical independence while strengthening focus, teamwork, and confidence.
In Level 2, students will:
• Play layered rhythm patterns in group ensembles
• Strengthen timing, coordination, and musical memory
• Develop musical literacy and early music theory understanding
• Begin reading and writing rhythmic musical notation
• Explore musical form, structure, and pattern composition
• Practice improvisation and creative expression
• Build leadership skills and solo confidence
Level 2 students grow not only as musicians, but as confident collaborators and creative thinkers.
