Clay Club with Ms. Kilcoyne

 After students make their clay pieces with me, the clay needs to be covered and slowly dried for five days, once clay is dried it will go into a bisque firing in our Kiln here at Seely Place, to load the kiln takes approximately 1 hour each loading.  Once bisque firing is done students get their work back and are able to "glaze" it with bright colorful glazes.  There is then a second round of loading and firing the kiln at at higher temperature to melt the glazes into glass.  This process is time consuming and delicate.  After students ceramic art pieces are done with both firings they then get wrapped with bubble wrap, marked with name and class, and returned to students.
