Class Experience & Expectations

Please come ready to sing, move your body and have fun!

You might be surprised to hear that you are your child's most important music teacher right now - and it doesn't matter whether you think of yourself as a great singer or dancer. At Music Together®, children are never required to sit in the circle or expected to conform to an adult's idea of participation. They will learn through play - and from watching you!

To ensure the best possible experience for every child and caregiver, we ask that you follow these classroom guidelines:

Class Size & Visitors

  • Each class has between 8 and 12 registered children, plus their grownups. Our classrooms are designed to hold up to 2 caregivers per child.

  • We love sharing the joy of music with grandparents and relatives! If you would like to bring a "special guest," please reach out to your teacher in advance to ensure we have enough physical space.

  • If you have a friend who wants to experience a class, please let us know or direct them to the trial class sign-up here.

Participation

The grownups in class play an active role in creating the rich musical environment that is so effective for supporting children’s musical development. Be prepared to sing along, move your body and get silly with your child!

Food/Drink & Toys

To keep our focus on the music and maintain a clean, safe environment for little ones:

  • Please finish all food and drinks before entering the classroom. Water bottles are allowed, but please keep them out of the circle and out of reach of other children.
  • Kindly leave personal toys in your bag or in the car. Outside toys can often become a distraction or a point of contention among the children.

Device-Free Classroom

To create a focused and respectful environment for our musical community, we maintain a device-free classroom:

  • We ask that all cell phones and electronic devices be silenced and put away before entering the classroom. This ensures you can be fully engaged with your child and the music without distractions.
  • To respect the privacy of all participating families, photography and videography are not allowed during class time.
